Photo is from http://www.popphoto.com |
Specs:
- Designed to be used only on APS-C format DSLRS.
- 60mm lens becomes a 96mm when mounted on a cropped sensor DSLR
- Minimum focus is about 9" (230mm)
- It weighs only 12.5oz (355g)
Things I like:
- Creamy bokeh. It produces very pleasing out-of-focus elements
- Images are quite sharp with good color & detail reproduction
- Most macro lenses only have f/2.8, this lens has f/2 producing even shallower depth of field (more bokeh!)
- 1:1 True Macro.
- Internal focusing. The front element does not move.
- Build quality is great.
- The price! I bought this with 60% discount.
Things I do not like
- Slow autofocus. Canon's USM is still faster. I fixed this by using the auto-focus assist lamp of my flash.
Uses:
- Still life and product photography
- Portraits (Great for close-ups & head-and-shoulders)
Thanks,
JR
