When I was in primary school my favorite subject was Sibika at Kultura (Civics & Culture) and I always see Pagsanjan Falls as a tourist spot in our text books. It really piqued my interest and wanted to see it in real life. One weekend we decided to have a quick trip and visit the place. We rode a Santa Cruz Laguna bus from Buendia terminal. It took us two hours to reach Pagsanjan. When we arrived we learned that Pagsanjan Falls is also called Cavinti Falls. As per the locals, the main falls are actually located within the boundaries of the two towns: Cavinti and Pagsanjan.
A tricycle driver offered us to take us to Cavinti. I told the driver to take us to a carinderia (eatery) so we can eat first and buy packed lunch before going to the site.
There were a lot of street kids in the carinderia and they looked hungry. One our friends, Joy, bought them food. It was so touching. Joy is now crowned as the group's Miss Charity!
We reached the place Pueblo El Salvador Park. We paid an entrance fee PhP270 per person. For this price, you get to trek, rappel and raft through the waterfalls. The view is amazing and the trek is easy because there are steel bars and ladder. It's worth every penny!
After forty to sixty minutes of trek and rappelling we finally reached the bottom part and the view is so amazing! It was so surreal!
The view is so amazing! I am going back again soon.
Thanks!

Delicious carinderia food in Pagsanjan, Laguna
The food was good and cheap! Oh I really miss the life in the province. I ordered ginisang ampalaya (sauteed bitter gourd), fried chicken and a cup of rice. It only cost less that P70 pesos. So cheap yet delicious. We bought fried chicken and rice for our lunch. There are no stores/eateries in the falls. Our lunch was wrapped in banana leaves. So eco-friendly!
Food in the province - simple yet so delicious and nutritious!
The owner of the eatery was very kind. He allowed us to use his place to freshen up and prepare for the trek. We applied generous amount of sunscreen to protect our skin from the scorching heat of the sun. We were very happy because the place has a very large mirror. Mirror means selfie time (LOL!). Mary, the one with the pasty white face, applied too much BB cream and she transformed into a geisha instantly (just kidding!).
Selfie/Groupie before the adventure.
